Spring will soon be upon us, and the NoNahme Clan is busy planning our next all-NCFC gathering. This event is looking like it's shaping up to be a wonderful day of music and indigenous culture from Australia to North America. First of all, we're planning this event to be a fundraiser for the local public radio station KFOK. They will be recording some parts of the day for later broadcast. Proceeds from the evening concert will go to help move their antenna to higher ground. We hope that you'll join us to help make this fundraiser a successful event!

The event will be in beautiful Georgetown, CA at the Black Oak Mine School Distict's 'Nature Area' and Ampitheater, located just north of Georgetown. At the IOOF Hall, in the evening, will be a concert benefit for our local KFOK FM Volunteer Radio Station.

Here's some pictures from the Spring Gathering last year...

This is such a beautiful part of California, that you may want to book a hotel room in the local area and make a weekend out of it!

What to Bring

It should be a beautiful spring day, but please bring appropriate clothing as the weather can change fast in the mountains.

Here's a suggested list of things to bring:

  • Flutes, drums, musical instruments

  • Chair, umbrella, blanket to sit on

  • Lunch, drinks

  • Check book or cash to support our vendors

  • Appropriate clothing layers

  • Families are encouraged and invited to attend.

NOTE: This is a drug free and alcohol free event. We thank you for respecting this and expect that you set a good example for the youth in attendence.

In the case of Rain:

The daytime events will be held in the Georgetown High School Gym in the case of rain. The evening concert will be held at the IOOF regardless of the weather.

Accomodations:

If you are coming from out of town and would like to stay for the evening, there are many choices available in the area:

We highly recommend The Yoga Place in Georgetown. The ambiance, the beauty, and the surroundings of this location are superb. It is located within easy walking distance of the Festival and within a slightly longer walking distance to the main part of Georgetown, with its restaurants restaurants, cafes, antique shops, etc. There are two private rooms available and the room where classes usually stay. The overnight charge per person has been dropped for NCFC and INAFA members from $65 to $50. There is a small lake (large pond) for swimming if one is brave enough to do so in April. Some of the meals are provided by the host. (530) 333-2625

We also highly recommend The American River Inn bed and breakfast. It is located in a lovely old house in Georgetown and is in easy walking distance to the Festival. Rooms vary from those for two people with a bathroom shared by another couple at $90 per night - to suites at $120 per night. However, for NCFC and INAFA members the prices have been reduced by 10% from the aforementioned. (800) 245-6566
