NOTE: Hit the refresh button on your browser if you've been here before, to reload with new pictures! Last update: Oct 31, 2007 This pages is dedicated to capturing the images and stories from the Mary Youngblood Moaning Caverns event on Saturday, October 27, 2007. If you have additional pictures to submit for display here, please send them to: I will post more pictures on my blog and here throughout the coming week as I recieve new images from folks. The day was a beautiful fall day, and the drive through the foothills didn't disappoint with all of the fall color in play. Members from the Northern California Flute Circle arrived early to warm up, share some food and to spend some time with Mary Youngblood before the concert. Here's a picture of Mary Youngblood warming up on her guitar.
David Blonski supported Mary on the harmonica for one song. This was the first time that Dave and Mary had played together in this context, so they warmed up before the event:
Several folks practiced and jammed prior to going into the ground. Here's Alex, Dan and Franchesca playing a song together:
Here's a picture of Loping Wolf member JP playing a song for the group:
As we went underground, it was close quarters for the first 90 steps. Here you can see Franchesca and others going down the steps into the cavern:
Unfortunately, I couldn't get any pictures of Mary or the NCFC members from the audience perspective. If you have some shots of Mary playing from the front, please send them our way. I'd love to post some pictures of Mary. At the end of the event Mary did play a "Happy Birthday Song" to several audience members who were celebrating their birthdays that evening. Here's a picture of Mary playing to Andre's mom: Beth who was in the audience. You can see that it was a wonderful crowd and everyone was close for the evening at the bottom of the cavern:
Bay Clan members Frankie and Rita played a variety of percussion instruments during the show: David Blonski was one of our two didj players for the evening. Here he is playing didj while folks are leaving the event (back up the stairs in the background):
